In a landmark welfare decision, the Odisha Government has launched the ‘Sweekruti’ scheme to support the Transgender community and their parents.
Under this scheme:
👉 ₹3,000 monthly financial assistance will be provided to eligible transgender persons
👉 ₹1,500 monthly support will be given to their parents or guardians
The initiative aims to ensure financial security, social dignity, and inclusion, while encouraging families to support transgender children instead of abandoning them.

This historic move is being hailed as a big step towards equality and social justice in Odisha.
